Colouring blanket pens: the 24 markers in the box

The box holds 24 colour markers, each a different colour. They are the pens you colour the line art with, one evening at a time.

We report the maker's words and nothing more. The maker presents the blanket as washable and reusable. It gives no washing temperature, number of washes or tumble-dryer advice, so we don't promise any of them. Our care guide says what to do with that gap.

Permanent fabric pens: when you want to keep your artwork

Once a design is finished and you want it to stay, permanent fabric pens are the tool. They are sold as an option, + £8.99 per blanket, so the total is £43.98 with the blanket and its 24 colour markers.

They are a second set of pens, made to fix the colours of a finished design. They are not a refill of the markers in the box. Use them on a finished blanket, for outlines, names or a date. They come from a different supplier, so they may arrive in a separate parcel.

Can you use other fabric pens on a colouring blanket?

The maker describes the blanket with its own 24 colour markers and doesn't list other brands. Other fabric pens may well work on soft polyester, but we haven't tested any, so we can't tell you how they behave. If you try another pen, test it on a small corner first.

Do colouring blanket pens dry out?

Markers dry out when the cap is left off, like any pen. Put each cap back on as soon as you stop, and store the pens lying flat in their box between evenings. The maker doesn't give a shelf life, so we don't quote one.
